Indiana
Drops a pair to Michigan State
The Hoosiers
dropped their first pair of games of the GMHL regular season. Indiana
traveled to historic Munn Arena and were defeated by the Spartans,
1-9 & 2-6.
Friday night,
the Spartans came out flying and put up 8 goals before the Hoosiers'
Reed Schafer dented the scoreboard. Five of the Michigan State goals
were on the man advantage. When the Hoosiers would get momentum
their attack would falter after being nailed for a penalty. Indiana
racked up 22 minor penalties and were outshot 36-20.
Saturday, Indiana
had a much more coordinated attack. The Hoosiers were able to skate
with more intensity and passion, until the penalties caught up with
them again. Shorthanded, Indiana wasn't able to match the Spartan
speed and Michigan State was victorious 6-2. Reed Schafer netted
his second of the weekend and Tyler Crowley put away his first of
the season.
Next week the
Hoosiers host The Fighting Illini of Illinois at 9:00pm on Friday
and 3:30pm on Saturday.
